1. Why should I study Computer Science and Information Technology?
The study of computing and information technology open up a wide variety of challenging and interesting career opportunities. Computing and information technology plays an important role in most areas of industry, commerce and government where an extensive range of applications for computers is found.

2. What are my career opportunities?
A shortage of trained computing professionals in Malaysia is predicted to last into the next century, so career opportunities should be good. Often the career path of a graduate is determined by the development of an interest in a specific aspect of computing or a particular area of commerce, industry, science or engineering during the course.

3. How can I deal with faculty matters if I am a student of FIT?
The cooperation of students and faculty is going through the faculty office. The faculty office makes a commitment to all students of the faculty that their problems and concerns will be dealt with speedily. The prime function of the faculty office administration is to support the teaching and research activities of the faculty. This function includes but is not limited to selection of students, advice on course offerings, time table scheduling, assisting students with subject choices and similar matters.

4. What does MMU offer me as a student of FIT?
In line with Multimedia University (MMU)'s mission to provide world class education using IT and multimedia technologies, all the courses offered at the Faculty of Information System Technology/Faculty of Information Technology are online. An online course page allows the students access to vital information about the course including: the course syllabus, course objectives, lecture plan, lecture notes, tutorials, assignments, model solutions for tests, links to relevant web sites world wide etc. The course page also enables for online real-time interaction between students and course coordinator (lecturer) via the use of newsgroup, chatting, and other appropriate state-of-the art real-time interaction facilities.

5. What are requirements for me to be a student of Faculty of Information Technology?
For you to complete your studies successfully, it will be necessary for you to attend a reasonable proportion (not less than 75%) of the lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical classes organised for your courses, and to carry out the necessary reading, preparation and assignments set.

6. Is there any support from FIT regarding the academic life in MMU?
MMU provides academic advisory supports to student who requires it especially with respect to adapting into MMU academic programme, selecting a programme of study and determine the suitability of subject to be registered.

7. How many labs does FIT have?
In our current new building, we have a total of 23 operating laboratories (15 teaching labs, 7 research labs and 1 technical support lab). You may see the Facilities page for more info.

8. What are the grading criteria in the FIT?

9. How can I continue my studies in MMU if I was studying in the other university previously?
The University of Multimedia recognises students by Beta, Gamma and Delta levels which are defined as below:
Beta students : Students who have completed 40 credit hours and below.
Gamma students : Students who have completed 41 to 80 credit hours.
Delta students : Students who have completed 81 credit hours and above.
