Novell Certified Linux Professional 10
This is a professional certification course for people who are interested to gain more knowledge on the Linux operating system or for people who are interested to be Linux administrators. A Novell Certified Linux Profession (NCLP) will have the following skills:
- User, group and file administration
- Understand the Linux shell and commands
- Linux network administration
- Manage SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
- Administer SLES initialization
- Manage Linux processes and services
- Enable Internet services
- Configuring Apache Web server
- Configuring and using SAMBA and NFS
For this certification, there will be no coursework and students will only need to pass a Novell Practicum (050-697) in order to achieve the certification. The Novell Practicum is a pactical (scenario based) exam where students apply the knowledge they have learned to solve actual problems.
The NCLP courses include:
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Fundamentals
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Administration
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Advanced Administration

Some of my Linux-savvy friends and I have been hashing out what the best Linux desktop would be for a SMB (small to medium sized business)....
... My answer is that those requirements pretty much narrow it down to Novell and SLED (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop). Novell, and its resellers, knows support and SMB.
