Entry Requirement
- All students who are currently developing software related Final Year Project in Faculty of IT and Faculty of Information Science & Technology (Malacca Campus).
- Students will compete as a group of up to 4 people.

10th May 2009 Submission of 5-minutes video
18th May 2009 Announcement of 10 qualifying teams to Round 2.
15th June 2009 Round 2 Presentation
Selection Process
Round 1
- Preliminary judging stage
- Submission: A 5-minutes video concerning your project.
- Video’s content: Includes
- description of their project,
- motivations for doing the project, and
- screenshots of the code behind their system.
- Submission Website: To Be Announced.
- Deadline for submission : 10th May 2009
- Scope: Software development best practices, Software quality assurance, IT security and compliance, Data mining, Networking, Infrastructure monitoring, IT Process & Methodology Improvement, IT Optimization Tools.
- Technology: Open to any platforms of technology
- Date to announce teams which are qualified for Round 2 : 18th May 2009
- Date for Round 2 presentation: 15th June 2009. Teams who fail to present in Round 2 will forfeit their participation.
- The top ten teams from Round 1 vie for the prizes.
- Participants from MDec-Dell USP 2.0 progamme will automatically enter this round
- Each team will do a 15 minute presentation, followed by a 5 minute Q and A
- Teams will be judged on technical difficulty, business viability as well as innovation and creativity (refer the judging schemes below).

Suggested design components:- 1. Architectural framework 10%
- 2. Data design 10%

- 4. Procedural/Functional 10%
- 5. Security 10%
- 6. Advanced software design - usage of design patterns, refactoring, etc - bonus marks up to 5% , so long as the 50% marks for Solution Design is not exceeded.
